When it warms up I will see how it shoots those 168 grain Barnes TTSX bullets. The rifle holds 5 in the magazine and the big claw extractor easily jumps the cartridge head on a chamber load if needed or wanted. It has pillar bedding on the rear tang, which I doubt the factory did in 1962. The trigger is not adjustable, but is good as is, honing of the sear would help, but I am ok with it. There is a small click with the safety Armymark, all the safety on this rifle does is lock the trigger. The rifle I am buying has a Monte Carlo stock OughtSix, other then that, probably the same. I think I will keep my fingers crossed and see how close some 220 grain Nosler Partitions and 168 grain Barnes TTSX land at 50 and 100 yards using the iron sights. I loaded five rounds in the magazine and loaded a sixth round in the chamber and was pleasantly surprised when the big claw extractor let the bolt smoothly close.
The forearm is very slender and time will tell if it moves and exerts enough pressure on the barrel to hurt accuracy.

The stock inletting is very precise and I believe the barrel channel makes full contact with the barrel.
The rear sight is missing and has blank in the dove tail, so I am thinking now about the barrel mounted peep sight Skinner Sights sells or a single standing "express" sight. That cross bolt will give it the extra touch of "cool" that I like on this type of rifle.

I am ordering some Talley products, bases and QD Rings and because of the precise inletting required I will have a local guy that I know install the Talley European style swing swivel attachments and a cross bolt that will go through the recoil lug area after I epoxy it to fix a hair line crack in the wood where the recoil lug sets. I am now the owner of this little 6.5 lb.
